That Fuzzy Feeling…

The first velvety bite into a Crunchie bar…

When my 9 month old boy Charlie giggles…

Middling a square cut off a fast bowler for 4 runs…

The new warmth of stepping off a plane in a hot country…

The sound of Nottingham Forest fans singing `City Ground` to the tune of Mull of Kintyre…

The look on my oldest boy Conor’s face when he sees after I’ve been away with work for a couple of days…

Pouring a new bag of sugar slowly into the sugar jar…

The first sip of a refreshing pint at the end of a hectic day…

Well earned praise…

The opening riff to `Layla` by Eric Clapton live…

Floating about 50 metres out into the sea, that point when the sound of the beach has gone…

The smell of freshly baked bread drifting from a bakery early morning…

The moment of finding and finally placing someone in the job they really dreamt of…

…I did the last one today, and it matches up. The graciousness of a newly placed jobseeker in a role and an industry they have been dying to work in is rewarding, thrilling, and infectious. I did this for the first time in 1994, and have probably done it 500+ times since… but the latest time feels absolutely as good as the first time.

It’s what recruitment ahould always be all about. Not a KPI or a pathetic celebratory bell in sight… just the warm afterglow of making people feel great.

Feel free to add your own Fuzzy Feelings…
